What is IV therapy?
An infusion of sterile fluid, usually with vitamins, minerals or amino acids added, given through a small cannula in the arm over roughly 30 to 60 minutes.
Because it bypasses the digestive system, it can raise blood levels of certain nutrients faster and higher than swallowing them.
Being honest about the evidence matters here. There is good support for IV fluid in dehydration and for replacing a deficiency that has actually been measured.
