Adam Mauer, M.D.
25 Years · Park Avenue and Garden City
Adam Mauer, M.D. is a physician practising in New York, with rooms on Park Avenue and in Garden City. Across twenty-five years he has built an approach to aesthetics grounded in anatomy rather than in surface treatment alone.
He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and further certified as an HIV specialist, an acupuncturist and an ACSM fitness instructor.
“As a physician myself who absolutely insists on looking natural and still recognizable, I could not recommend him enough.”Nadia S., MD · patient of 4 years

Adam’s Journey
Early Beginnings
Adam Mauer graduated early from Columbia University, with a degree in pre-medicine, music and art. The combination was an unusual one, and it turned out to be the point. Aesthetic medicine rewards what music and art reward: an eye for proportion, and the patience to work to it.
A Foundation in Anatomy
He took his medical degree at Sackler, completed a general surgery internship at Beth Israel, and finished his residency at the NYU Rusk Institute in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Rusk trains physicians to understand how a body is built and how it holds itself together. It is an uncommon route into aesthetics, and it shaped everything that came after it.
Anatomy Before Aesthetics
Dr. Mauer treats the face as four layers: the bone structure underneath, the muscle, the fat, and the skin on the surface. Most aesthetic treatment addresses only the last of those. His work begins with the three beneath, and the skin is the layer a patient looks after themselves, at home, every day.
Aesthetics, Simplified: The Four Layers
At the heart of the practice is Dr. Mauer’s core principle: treat the structure first, and let the skin be the layer you maintain.
